Ballast Point Even Keel & Mango Even Keel Session IPA
RateBeer 92 (82 Mango) – IBU 40 – ABV 3.8%
Editor’s Notes:
Even Keel is a great session IPA and even more sessionable than All Day IPA, although at a lower ABV.
Mango Even Keel is amazing. The mango flavor compliments the hops well and is not over-powering.
Supplier Descriptions:
Even Keel is a hoppy ale designed for smooth sailing. A full-flavored beer with a silky malt backbone and a bright hop profile of herbs and citrus, it packs all the taste of an IPA in a sessionable alcohol content.
Mango Even Keel is the ideal beer for easy drinking. This hoppy, session ale gets a flavor boost from mango, which perfectly plays off the citrusy hop bouquet. With fruit, hops, and a low ABV, this beer truly is on another level.
Abita Big Easy IPA
Beer Advocate 80 – IBU 40 – ABV 4.5%
Editor’s Notes:
Citrusy and light – it’s easy to drink quite a few – even if you’re in the hot Louisiana sun.
Supplier Description:
The hop flavor’s big, but like life in New Orleans, we’re taking it easy. This Session IPA is brewed with lemon peels and dry hopped with Cascade, Amarillo, Centennial and Simcoe for a hoppy aroma of citrus, fruit and pine. Easy to drink and just right for long hot days, steamy nights, parades or a day on the river with friends.
SweetWater Goin’ Coastal IPA With Pineapple
RateBeer 92 – IBU 50- ABV 6.1%
Editor’s Notes:
A perfect amount of pineapple aroma and flavor up front, with hops following at the finish.
Supplier Description:
Slide into summer and step off the grid by Goin’ Coastal with this pineapple laced IPA. The bright aromas of the five citrus hop additions are accentuated by the tropical fruit of the pineapple – and just like those three day weekends, its finish is quick.
Ballast Point Pineapple Sculpin IPA
RateBeer 97 – IBU 70- ABV 7.0%
Editor’s Note:
Oh my. Sculpin IPA is great. Add pineapple and you get the best version of Sculpin yet.
Supplier Description:
Pineapple Sculpin IPA came from one of many small-batch cask experiments to enhance the flavor of our signature IPA. With so many tropical hop notes in Sculpin, how could we not try adding some sweet, juicy pineapple? The combination of fruity flavors and hop intensity definitely packs a punch.
Ballast Point Watermelon Dorado Double IPA
BeerAdvocate 78 – IBU 90 – ABV 10.0%
Editor’s Notes:
Another fruit infused beer from Ballast Point, this watermelon take on their Dorado Double IPA makes it more drinkable and very tasty. At 10% ABV, this may be the one of the best strong beers for summer.
Supplier Description:
Our Watermelon Dorado Double IPA is not one to back down from big flavors. Mash, kettle, and dry hopping blend to create a huge hop profile that is balanced with a blast of watermelon. The result is a refreshing brew that is all summer and no seeds.
